So you've finished building a great website and you're ready to start raking in the profits – if you can figure out how to let the world know your business exists. Although creating an attractive website is an important first step if you plan to start your own online business, it is definitely not the last. In fact, once the website is complete you've still got quite a lot of work on the horizon.

Just because you have a website up and running, it doesn't mean people will automatically know where to find you. And yet, surprisingly, many first-time web entrepreneurs drop the ball at this point in the game. They assume customers will find them amongst all the other sites floating around in cyberspace, as if through some kind of psychic connection. But if you think about it, this type of thinking is very misguided.

It is the same with any business: customers won't start flocking to your store unless you invest some time and money into advertising. Depending on your budget, you can either blast the trumpet really loud or toot the horn a little bit at a time. But in the end, you have to make some kind of noise in order to be heard.

But how do you achieve this in the vacuum of cyberspace? Or perhaps more fittingly, how do you make yourself heard amidst a crowd of other aspiring musicians all trumpeting their own cause? Obviously, online marketing is different from marketing a bricks-and-mortar business, so it's important to know exactly where to begin. If you take the proper steps you will be attracting interested customers in no time.

The first step is to know your customer, inside and out. This is key if you want to be successful in your marketing strategy because you can't market to potential customers if you don't know who they are. For someone selling baked goods, targeting the "Carb-Haters of America" might not result in the profits you are anticipating.

Next, determine where you want to market your product. The Internet allows every new or expanding business the opportunity to reach a global market, but not every business is aiming for that goal. If your website is set up as one arm of your existing offline business, you might wish to target potential customers in your local area who also want the option of online shopping. In this case, integrate your website into promotional materials for your store so people will learn about the new branch of your business. Essentially, the efforts you make to promote your business outside of the Internet can be used to get your web address out there as well.

Internet Marketing

But of course, most people who begin an online venture are looking to broaden their customer base and attract a global clientele. There are several ways to start advertising online. Just remember: online marketing is always changing, and nothing works perfectly for every business. You might have to tailor a marketing plan to suit your company's specific goals, or if Internet marketing makes your head spin, you also have the option of hiring a company to do the marketing for you.

Step one: register with search engines. Unfortunately, this doesn't guarantee hits to your site, and the promises many search engines make are usually more pie-in-the-sky than realistic, but it is still a necessary evil. If you have to choose, register with Yahoo! and Google, as the highest percentage of web traffic originates from these two giants. In the past, achieving top search results could be done for free; now you have to shell out some cash if you want to get top placement and advertising space. Yahoo! Express and Google's Adwords program are two examples of this type of paid search engine placement.

Another way to get noticed is to participate in a link exchange. Simply put, this involves seeking out other websites that are related to your company or product in some way and asking the owner if he/she will post your link on the site. If the owner agrees, you offer to post their link on your site, hence the term "link exchange." This is a good way to start advertising your site because it involves targeting the right kind of people (someone visiting a site already related to your business) and forming solid bonds with other websites. And the more links other sites have to your site, the more popular you become with the search engines, without having to pay for top placement.

Finally, don't sit back and wait for customers to come to you. Be proactive and go directly to your clientele. Of course, this means you must know where to find them, but this sounds harder than it actually is.

For instance, many new businesses actually use eBay to source potential customers. It depends on what you're selling, but if you know a lot of people looking for your product spend a good amount of time making eBay purchases, that might be a good place to begin and get your name out in public. Use eBay as a marketing tool – sell a few items for very low prices, get people on your email list and invite them to consider future purchases from your website. EBay is more than a place to sell goods; it can be used as a highly effective marketing tool.

Or, as mentioned above, make business connections with people in a related business. Pay to have banner ads displayed on other websites to help spread the word about your business. This will bring you closer to the people who make up your target market.

This is just the beginning when it comes to online marketing, but if you start off on the right foot and persevere, you will succeed.

Did you know that it's ok to have and make money?

Did you know that it's ok to have and make money?

Word Count:
1000

Summary:
As some of you will know, I write a weekly e-mail which I call my "Weekly update and business tips".

However, I recently realised that some of you may not have read my "best" weekly bulletins (being modest as always), so over the next few weeks I'll be publishing the very best online home-based business messages and tips to the web.

Keywords:
online home based business, home based business, business opportunity, internet business, make money online, internet business opportunity

Article Body:

This week, I'm going to provide you with some excellent online business tips that will help any business, and also I'll tell you a story about an e-mail that I received this week.

Firstly, on New Year's Eve I met a friend of a friend... We were allowed by our respective partners to talk business for an hour over dinner! In all seriousness, we'd spoken before, but this was the first time that we'd met in person so we had our excuses...

Anyway, he has a similar background to myself - he's a normal person just like you and me... But, he decided one day that the office and a 9-5 job just wasn't what he wanted to do for the rest of his working life. The result of this decision was that he refinanced his house and set-up his very own landscape gardening business in his local area.

He told me that one day it just hit him - out of the blue. He realised that he only had one shot at this life and he hated what he was doing at the time... and he wanted to make more money… And I could certainly relate to that!

His business has been going for over one year now, but he did confess that 2006 was going to be a make or break year for him in terms of purely finance... And as we talked more it became obvious to me that for the immediate future he needed to target very specific 'contracts' that would bring his business a residual income for the entire year or perhaps longer.

In the past, he'd been dropping a simple leaflet through doors, or letters to the bigger clients - and we talked about what the leaflets and letters contained. They were good in content, but I suggested that he needed to stand out from his competition by offering something in addition to the service that everyone was offering. i.e to maintain your garden for £x every month.

So, with my marketing hat firmly on and in place, I suggested that he offer something free - as an additional bonus for winning the contract. Something that would encourage the potential client to become a paying client...

I told him that he needed to focus on his customer - what do they want from a landscape gardener? What are they really looking for? It's not primarily cost, but something to make you stand out from the competition.

He told me that potential clients were often unsure as to the quality of the job or whether gardeners could be trusted. Well, this was it... this was the 'clincher' that I was looking for...

He's since added a few testimonial quotes to his sales letter and is now offering a 'first month free' service to all maintenance contracts signed in January. Of course, he's adjusted the price to accommodate this free month, but the importance is winning the contract in the first place... And I understand from speaking to him this week that he's already arranged two meetings with potential clients for next week.

You see, marketing and sales is all about knowing what your market wants. If you can offer them what they want at a reasonable price and make yourself stand out from the competition, then you'll be successful. To target your market, you can then use leaflets, direct mail, internet marketing, e-mail marketing or even a telephone call.

My tip for this week is, therefore, to get inside the head of your customer and then ask yourself (as the customer) "what do I really want?" Once you master this, the rest will be simple.

Moving on...

I received an e-mail that upset me this week - it was from someone that isn't a customer of mine questioning how to set-up an online business. I always try to help everyone that I come into contact with, so I responded to a series of questions from this person in an attempt to help them get started... The response to my final e-mail amazed me!

It read something along the lines of "it's alright for you - you do this for a living"...

Well, what do you say to that?!

Believe it or not, I wasn't born with my home-based online business in a box - ready to open and start making money whenever I felt like it. There was a time when I knew nothing about the internet, nothing about marketing techniques and even general business knowledge let alone an online business!

So to say something so defeatest just amazed me. To me, it's like saying that becoming a self-made millionaire just isn't possible...

Sure, people have done it, but that doesn't mean that I can do it?!!

So much of where you are and what you do is in your mind, which is why I want to make the following statement regarding the rich and successful amongst us:

Everyone has the right to become wealthy and experience financial freedom. Those that do… believe that "it's ok to make and have money..."

And if you think about this statement for just a moment and consider all the negativity associated with having or making money, then it becomes very clear as to what this means.

At a young age, we're taught that "money is the root of all evil" and "money can't buy you love/friends". We also see our parents using credit and spending everything they have, so we copy them...

My parents retired BEFORE they'd paid off their mortgage, so not only did I have absolutely no advantages than the 'normal' person... I saw that working all your life was NOT the way to go.

If you take only this from this online business message, it should be that any business can be improved with the correct and most cost-effective marketing. And in order to succeed you need to start thinking like the rich - it's ok to make money... and lots of money at that.

First of all, WHY do you want to have your own business? Do you think it will be fun? Do you need the money? Or do you just want a new challenge? Your answer to that question will determine your focus.

A lot of newcomers to Internet marketing don't enter into it as a business. If you're just doing it for fun, that's okay. But, if you really want to earn make it a success, you must treat it as a business.

It will be difficult. You will not only be the boss, but you will be the accountant, the assistant, and the administrator. You'll be doing it all, at least in the beginning.

The next step is to determine if you have the qualities that you need to work from home; some people do not. You must have the following qualities:

1. You must have the self discipline to do the work that is necessary. That means not allowing yourself to watch television, read a novel, or take a swim in the pool while there are still tasks left undone for your business. Of course, those tasks are never-ending, but treat your work day just as if you were working outside the home: 8-5 or 9-5.

2. You should be able to totally focus on a problem from beginning to end to determine the best way to solve it. Problem solving is a big issue because problems will come up - count on it!

3. Organization is also important to a business. You should have the ability to organize your "office" space, whether it be an actual office or just a desk in another room. Paper and information will accumulate and you'll need a system to handle all the filing storage and information management.

4. You will also need to be able to communicate with other people. You'll have to be able to explain both problems that you are having but answer customers' questions about your own products.

5. And finally, you must be able to work hard. If you think that working for yourself will be a lot easier than working for someone else, you're in for an education! No matter what business niche you decide to go into, you will have "bosses" - someone will always be asking you to do something for them.

There are two more important tasks that MUST be done to make sure your business succeeds.

The first is to have a plan. Set goals and write a task list to help you reach those goals.

And most important: Take ACTION! You can plan all you want but if you don't take action, the planning won't ever yield any results.

If you've decided that you DO have the qualities that you need to have to succeed in owning your own business, then go for it! Have faith in yourself and your decision. Have the courage to keep on going when those inevitable problems arise. And be DETERMINED to make your business a success. Faith, courage and determination will lead to your success.

How to Use Magnetic Marketing to Massively Multiply the Results of Your Advertising

It works without fail, every time.  It can work with everything you are selling or promoting.  It works on the principle of giving before receiving, and of offering more in value than you are getting in cash.  Your prospect must perceive an increase for themselves in order to want to interact with you.  Magnetic marketing is the technique that does this.  Then this same technique is used to convert a prospect to a sale or business partner.

What is magnetic marketing?  It is a process of attracting leads to you by offering them something of value first.  Using ezine classified advertising and solo ads for an example, don't try to close the deal all at once by attempting to drive your prospect to your website.  Instead, start by giving the targeted prospect an offer they can't refuse.

Using my own business ad copy as an example, here is an ad I ran before I had put the magnetic marketing technique together for this business that is an example of NON magnetic marketing:

Catch the Buzz - Discover Revolutionary Health and Wealth!
As seen on TV Superfood is now yours to use and make $$ with
Low cost! No personal sponsoring to make money! No minimum!
Weekly Pay, 100% Matching Bonus, 2x7 matrix, Incredible Team
Visit and learn more right now:

Admittedly, the ad copy is not my best, written off the cuff right when I had started with this new company.  However this kind of advertising can and does work, don't get me wrong!  The thing is, it is only a trickle of results compared to the massive results you can get by incorporating magnetic marketing into your business model.

The main problem with this and so many other ads is: they all really want the prospect to get excited and 'click here' without offering anything in return to really motivate them.

For about $50 my ad ran and is right now still running to about 6 million ezine subscribers – with an audience that is mostly small business and internet related.  I got and am still getting that trickle of results.

Now how about transforming it into a magnetic marketing campaign?

Take that same $50 and micro-target your audience.  Since my company pays quite well with retail sales I could find health-related ezines.  Then you can either purchase classified ads or solos.  Even with a small subscriber base of two or three thousand, you will get a lot of leads and sales. Your new magnetic marketing will now have ad copy reading something more like this:

Did you know Free Radicals Accelerate Aging and Cause Cancer?
Discover everything you NEED to know about the massive damage
they cause, & the most essential antioxidants needed to fight them.
Learn little known secrets of health, anti-aging and disease
prevention in this free e-course:

(If you like, you can subscribe, the email address and series are real).

What makes this ad now magnetic is that instead of trying to 'make the sale' of even driving your prospect to your website right away, your prospect now has the drive to contact you.  In doing this, they become your lead.

They want to receive valuable information on a topic that interests them.  They are plugged into your autoresponder and at the bottom of each valuable article in the series you send them, you drive them to your website.  They now see you as a valuable provider of information and are more inclined to visit your website and do business with you.

Magnetic marketing works in any type of business or niche category.  Give it a try.  Put together some relevant content and make a valuable series for your prospects to subscribe to. Your business provides the solution to someone's problem.  Create a series of informative articles, reports, or ebooks that provides in depth information on the problem and solution.

Create an ad that addresses that problem, and propels the prospect to obtain the vital information you will give them for free that is the solution to their problem.  Apply this to your marketing campaigns - by offering something of value to your prospects your magnetic marketing will massively multiply your advertising responses, leads and sales.

Find Your Niche - the Internet Marketer's Goldmine

Find Your Niche - the Internet Marketer's Goldmine

Word Count:

Summary:
If you haven't heard the word 'niche' being batted around by Internet Marketers then you haven't been listening. Finding a niche has become the antidote to competing in overly saturated online markets.

Article Body:
If you haven't heard the word 'niche' being batted around by Internet Marketers then you haven't been listening. Finding a niche has become the antidote to competing in overly saturated online markets.
What is a niche?

According to Merriam-Webster's Online Dictionary a niche is described as "a place, employment, status, or activity for which a person or thing is best fitted... a specialized market".

Have you noticed that despite the closing of many businesses in these harsh economic times, the local hobby train store is still around? That the 'hole-in-the-wall' eatery is thriving? Or that trends such as scrapbooking can start with a bang and still close within a year when four similar businesses start up in the same area?

The online business world reflects the same trends as experienced in the offline world - often with faster turnover and startup rates. Those who promote a product or site that targets a small, select audience can tap into a market that is otherwise not being served. Despite the limitations of the client base, the targeted nature of the business creates a devoted and active market - the aim of any business.

HOW DO I FIND A NICHE?

Finding a niche requires diligent research. Whether you have access to software that harvests and sorts information or you take a manual approach you must first start with ideas.

With a pen and paper (or computer, if that's more comfortable) brainstorm a list of businesses, products and industries. Create a list of keywords and phrases you think would be used by individuals looking for these items online.

Use a software program such as Wordtracker or a free resource such as the Overture Keyword Selector Tool to find keywords for your niche that have a high amount of traffic.

Although a program like Wordtracker makes it easy to find details such as how many sites compete for that market, you can also do your own research.

Concentrate your attention on question phrases such as "how do I..." or "where can I...". These questions will clue you into potential markets that need servicing.

Next, look in Google Answers. Type one of your keywords into the search area. What questions are being asked and how much are people willing to pay for answers? If you find a group of keywords with a high number of questions then enter these words in your browser's search engine.

What sites come up? Do they provide answers or solutions to the problem? How are they making money? Can you see an opportunity to service these individuals?

Finding a niche can open the door to a profitable online business. Research the market and be certain that your product or service is valuable to this group. Find forums or groups that target this audience and pay close attention to their concerns.

If you can help these people you WILL make money. The best of both worlds!

An Internet Marketing Strategy that Works

An Internet Marketing Strategy that Works

Word Count:
646

Summary:
Why waste money on the internet when you can do it right?

Keywords:
Business marketing,marketing,postcards,direct mail postcards

Article Body:
These days an internet marketing strategy plays a vital part of small business marketing strategies (or any size business marketing strategies for that matter). Web site marketing is an important part of just about any business, small or large.

You can't put up a beautiful (or any) web site and hope that people will just arrive. You have to let them know, IN EVERY POSSIBLE WAY, that your web site is there. This HAS to be part of any Internet marketing strategy you develop.  This is actually a basic marketing principle.  Customers are not going to look for you, you have to look for them.

Promoting your web site on-line and building traffic is the subject of thousands of web sites, e-zines, books, courses and seminars.  Using the web to promote your site, however, assumes that your customers are surfers.  But there is a large percentage of our population that is not as savvy with the internet as we would like them to be.

So, what about the large percentages of the population who are not? They will only find out about you through traditional marketing and public relations media. This is particularly true if you serve a fairly local market. Fortunately these are the easiest and cheapest prospects for you to reach off-line.

Key Off-Line Internet Marketing Strategies
Here are some of the ways to make your web site known (this list was taken directly from the Traffic Building Volume of Ken Evoy's brilliant book, Make Your Site Sell! 2002:

· TV, print and other advertising
· Stationary and business cards
· Catalogs, fliers, billboards, blimps, etc.
· Direct mail (prominently on every document)
· Telemarketing (make it part of the script)
· News releases to targeted media.

The main principle, to which you can add all your imagination, is INTERNET MARKETING STRATEGY INCLUDES ANY AND ALL MEANS OF GETTING YOUR WEB SITE KNOWN AND VISITED BY TARGETED PROSPECTS.

Unless you have a high budget, the TV, radio, classified ad route is not recommended but if you do run ads, be sure to mention your web site everywhere. Make it part of your Internet Marketing Strategy.

Another guiding principle is that your off-line internet marketing activities should make it easy for your prospect to go straight to your web site.  One of the best ways to market your website off-line is direct mail postcards.

If your prospect sees your website on a billboard as she's driving home, she probably won't look you up when she gets to the office the next day.

This is not the only medium that has problems like this.  Newspapers are bulky, radio has to spell it out and like before most people are driving at the time.  On the other hand, if your prospect is sitting at her computer and a post card comes in the mail announcing your web site, she can just turn around and type in your URL and she's at your web site.

Now if someone is in the office reading a trade journal and comes across an article about you in the magazine, it's not difficult for him to copy your URL into his browser and pay your site a visit.

I don't mean to say that those other avenues won't drive traffic to your site, but it will take numerous impressions and repetition to get them to remember your address.

On the other hand, direct mail postcards are generally received at the home or office where a computer is present, and if received somewhere else they are small enough to keep with you until you can get to a computer.  This way, your prospective customer will be able to take the take right over to their desk top computer, type in your address and go right to your site.  Brilliant!

I have seen the greatest success in off-line web site promotion with direct mail, and specifically direct mail postcards.

Blog Posting – A Good Source of Links

Blog Posting – A Good Source of Links

While reciprocal links are a necessity if you wish to promote your website and rank high in the search engines, blog posting delivers another important element of search engine optimization – one-way links.

Article Body:
One of the most popular guerrilla marketing techniques relies on blog posting as a great source of traffic and incoming links. While reciprocal links are a necessity if you wish to promote your website and rank high in the search engines, blog posting delivers another important element of search engine optimization – one-way links.

When posting on blogs you are allowed to include a live link in your message. Of course, this is different from one blog type to another, and some webmasters may have comment moderation turned on, so they will edit-out your links if they are not appropriate.

Blogs are one of the most interesting and dynamic Internet phenomena and they are, as many veteran Internet marketers already know, a constant source of traffic. This is why you should visit as many blogs related to your website topic and comment on the articles and posts they have.

Remember that you can place a link in your post, but don't overdo it, as you can easily get labeled as a "spammer" if you do so. The one-way links that come from blogs may really boost your search engine rankings, especially since there are plenty of blogs with a high Google PageRank.

How to Get Your Messages Posted on Blogs

Most blog owners are actively managing their blogs and they will instantly delete any message that has even a small resemblance to anything commercial or spam.

Here are a few useful tips on how to promote your website through your blog messages without making your comments sound like a sales pitch:

* Make sure to actually read some of the posts on that blog and create a custom message to suit the context. Don't go with a template comment as that will quickly backfire and chances are a large majority of your posts will get deleted within days.

* Don't place a lot of links in your message. One is enough. If the blog allows HTML, make sure to insert a keyword rich description in the link anchor, as that will boost your page rankings even further.

* Add valuable content with your message. You know how important article submissions are and how blog owners are used to posting whole article on their blog. Do the same with your message – don't post a 2-line message. Instead, create an article-like comment that brings some updated news on a particular topic and then adapt this message to the context of the blog you are posting on.

* It's a good idea to select 30-40 blogs that have high traffic and excellent search engine rankings and be a constant poster. At first, convince the blog owners that you are not a spammer by posting relevant comments without any links or promotional language. Once you prove to be "one of the team" you can insert some non-intrusive links to your website, which they will produce excellent results!

Visual Branding Keys To Make Your Business Memorable

Visual Branding Keys To Make Your Business Memorable
Word Count:
751
Summary:
Solid, practical guidance on two key components of the graphics side of branding.

Keywords:
branding, logo, tag line, design, do-it-yourself, brand, graphic design, marketing

Article Body:
Have you ever asked yourself why a competitor's business gets more attention than yours? The answer just may have to do with the elements that go into how memorable the business is. And that has to do with branding.
But exactly what is branding, anyway? Think of branding as predefining what a company is all about in the minds of its clients. Good branding differentiates your products and services in a positive way that really sticks in the minds of potential customers.
Let's say you are getting ready to run errands on a busy Saturday morning, thinking about the groceries that need to be bought, the dry cleaning that needs to be picked up, and the packages that must get to the post office before noon. The trip to the post office reminds you that your favorite aunt's birthday is next Wednesday. You need to add buying and mailing a birthday card to your list of things to do. Without a moment's hesitation, you know exactly where you will buy the card: the local Hallmark store. Why did you think Hallmark?

The answer to that question has everything to do with Hallmark's branding and two key elements of that branding are:

* An attractive, easy to read, and memorable logo;
* and a great tag line.

Assuming your own product is fabulous, it all comes down to image. Graphic design can play a huge part in that image. But what are some key things to consider?
A great logo is key.
You have given a great deal of attention to your company name and believe it speaks to who you are and what you do. Great! Now you need to wrap a graphic image around that name to carve out a prime piece of real estate in your target customer's mind. That is exactly what a great logo can do.
Keep in mind that a powerful logo:
* has a strong, balanced image with no little extras that clutter its look;
* is distinctive and bold in design, making it easy to see at a glance;
* has graphic imagery that looks appropriate for your business;
* works well with your company name;
* is done in an easy to read font;
* communicates your business clearly; and
* looks good in black and white, as well as in color.
Hallmark's memorable crown logo is one of the reasons that Hallmark comes to mind so quickly when you need to buy a greeting card. It is simple, bold, looks good in either color or black and white, and bespeaks the quality required for something to be stamped with a hallmark, so it works well with the company name. While the image might not have communicated the nature of the business when it was first created, it certainly does now!
A distinctive tag line is key.
A tag line is a 3 to 7 word phrase that accompanies your logo. It expresses your company's most important benefits and/or what you want your customers to remember about working with you. Think of it as the words you want to linger in your target customer's mind about you and what you have to offer.
Great tag lines appear to be effortlessly created because they just seem to flow. In fact, creating and refining one takes time, just like designing a great logo. The benefits of taking the time to craft a great tag line lie with the tag line's stickiness. Great tag lines stick in your memory.
The Hallmark tag line, "When you care enough to send the very best," appeals to the human desire to be viewed as having good taste and an appreciation for luxury. If greeting cards are a commodity, then Hallmark has found a way to differentiate itself as the choice for quality.
The Hallmark company was founded by J. C. Hall, so the name Hallmark was a natural. It was also brilliant from a marketing standpoint. Hallmarks have been used for centuries as a stamp to denote quality, purity, and genuineness. Could there be a better way to attach the image of quality to a product? The tag line capitalizes on that image well with words that stick in the mind and exemplify good taste.
Creating a great logo and distinctive tag line are critical in creating a brand that provides the perfect image for your company and great ones just might be memorable enough to give your company the beach front property in the minds of your customers that leaves them thinking only of you.

Time is tight, you don't have time to check the plane or see if there is gas in the tank so you just prepare yourself to take off. The consequences would be devastating. Many treat their future this way. They are so excited to do things that will return a profit that they forget to work on themselves and learn the tools necessary to make their life successful.

What if you bought a small jet plane and you were so excited to turn it into a profitable business. You lined up some high level business executives and that wanted to use your services. You were all concerned about getting a return on your investment, but you didn't have the time or resources to get flying lessons, so you bought a book and told yourself, "Well I'll figure it out on my own. How hard could it be? It couldn't be that much more difficult than driving a car." Then the first call comes and they need a flight to Florida, but you forgot one crucial skill, you don't know how to fly a jet plane.

Again, you say to yourself, "Well how hard can it be? I'll read through the book and the manual and I'll get ready to take off." Time is tight, you don't have time to check the plane or see if there is gas in the tank so you just prepare yourself to take off. The consequences would be devastating. Many treat their future this way. They are so excited to do things that will return a profit that they forget to work on themselves and learn the tools necessary to make their life successful.

I'll admit it, I made the same mistake. That is why I study persuasion, motivation and influence. I graduated from college went off to get a graduate degree and figured I knew enough to be successful in business. Then comes the reality check: school, society and life did not teach me what I needed to know to be successful. Many fall into this trap. Because I know we all want to be successful and improve our income and learn the right skills. That is why this is a foundation of success. The deeper the foundation, the more you learn about persuasion, motivation and influence, the bigger the success.

I remember talking to a gentleman on an airplane and he ran into the same challenge. He went and got his graduate degree, he did market research on this great new product. He found a venture capitalist. Everything checked out. Things were going to be successful, but the inability to connect with people, the inability to persuade and get others to believe in his ideas and his services, so he didn't see the success he deserved. It is like telling your grass, "Hey, if you grow, I'll give you water." It is the exact opposite. The foundational skill, the first things you should be learning is persuasion, motivation and influence. These mistakes have cost me hundreds of thousands of dollars, I bet even millions of dollars. The times I would say, "Well I'll just figure it out on my own," and jumping into business without the right skills.

Many people are struggling. Now they were working hard. They are putting in the hours. It is like those old fashioned pumps, down those abandoned farms that you have to pump up and down up and down. People get out there and they are pumping and pumping and they are working hard, but they are forgetting to prime the pump. They are forgetting to sharpen the knife. You've probably heard "that the gold knives work the hardest." It is not working hard, that is a great asset to have, it is using the right tools, it is having the right skills so when you come into a situation, you know what to do and how to do it.

800 Thread Count Sheets - A Complete Shopping Review.

Perhaps you can call me a man's man. Well, no – that is not quite true. That sort of implies that I am a dude – I am not. For starters I don't enjoy watching football; neither do I like to sock my friends in the arm except if they really have it coming, nor do I have any trouble talking about my feelings. Perhaps you can call me a man's man. Well, no – that is not quite true. That sort of implies that I am a dude – I am not. For starters I don't enjoy watching football; neither do I like to sock my friends in the arm except if they really have it coming, nor do I have any trouble talking about my feelings. It is just that, well, if it is a difference between living in squalor and taking the time to clean up and decorate my room, 9 times out of 10 I will chose the squalor. Surely what a difference getting engaged has made.

A few days back, we had gone out for shopping. All along the way to the store, my wife couldn't help but talk about the 800 thread count sheets that she wanted. In spite of her insistence, I had no clue about what 800 thread count sheets are. Oh no, they sure cannot be the 300 thread count sheets, like the ones that I had when we first met that she was so grumpy about from about the time that we got serious. Frankly speaking, I really can't see the difference. In fact she has 800 thread count sheets on her bed, and at all times asserts that they are so much nicer than mine. As far as I m concerned a sheet is a sheet. Well I suppose if it really makes her feel content to get 800 thread count sheets, God bless her shopping trip, but it is a bit of a hassle to be dragged along on such an outing.

It is not just the reason behind that she needs her expensive 800 thread count sheets. On my part I m willing to spilt-up the expenses with my dear fiancée for house goods, as for everything else. Most importantly she needs the special 800 thread count sheets in just the right color made out of real Egyptian cotton. As we spent all day browsing from store to store, looking through sheet after sheet that, in my opinion, all looked identical, and still, no perfect 800 thread count sheets. By the end, I think I was going a bit insane after spending so much time gaping through endless aisles of soft, fluffy pastels that looked more or less the same to my eye. After our marathon 800 thread count sheets trip, I simply wanted to switch onto some football just to spite her; needless to say I was dead beat. I dozed off even before she could put her new 800 thread count sheets on the bed.

For the savvy investor, there is a great deal of money to be made in the real estate market. If you are planning to invest in real estate, one thing you will want to do is to work on finding exceptional real estate deals that will make you a great deal of money in the long run. Believe it or not, finding phenomenal real estate deals is actually easier than you think. However, it does take a great deal of work and commitment on your part. There are many things that you can do to find great real estate deals and some of them include taking the time to look, knocking on doors, mailing out postcards, using mailing lists, and purchasing newspaper ads.

1. Start Looking - One great way that you can start finding extraordinary real estate deals is to be persistent in looking for them. If you are not finding great deals on real estate, you are not working hard enough. While being a real estate investor allows you to work your own hours and provides a great deal of flexibility, you still will have to put in a great deal of work to be successful. Since you basically work for yourself, your success is going to be up to you and the amount of work that you put into your job. If you persistently look for great real estate deals, you will be sure to find them.

2. Knock on Doors - If you want to find some of the best real estate deals out there, you may want to try knocking on doors. Before you go out knocking on doors, be sure that you have done your homework at the courthouse to find the places to go where homeowners may be having a financial problem. After you come up with a list of local people having financial difficulty, you can go out and start knocking on their doors and can offer your help. If you choose this method to help you find great deals, remember to be sensitive to their feelings and try to avoid mentioning or even alluding to the possibility of foreclosure. Be personable and friendly with the people and let you know that you care about them and want to do what you can to help. Taking time with people in financial trouble can help them and help you get a great real estate deal as well.

3. Use Postcards - Another great way that will help you find exceptional real estate deals is by sending out postcards. While sending out postcards to those who are in the process of foreclosing on their home is a good thing, remember that more than likely they have already been receiving a great number of postcards from other investors already, and yours may be overlooked. There are more effective ways to use postcards to your benefit. Be sure to send out postcards to various people who could be in financial trouble, such as those facing bankruptcy, going through divorce, or even to landlords just out of eviction court. If you are creative and take extra initiative when you are sending out your postcards, you are more likely to get outstanding results.

4. Mailing Lists - Many times realtors will send out flyers or postcards to various places in a certain area, and you can use mailing lists just as realtors do to help you find phenomenal real estate deals. You can actually purchase lists that come by zip code, and then decide where you would like to purchase property and start sending information to these addresses. While this may seem like a hit and miss way to find a great deal, it is a great way to open up your options and find a great deal from out of the blue.

5. Newspaper Ads - One way that many investors overlook to get great real estate deals is by using newspaper ads. Many investors neglect using this method because they feel that it is too expensive for them to use. In neglecting this method, many investors narrow their potential and miss out on great deals that they could have had if they would have taken out an ad. While it can cost a bit of money to advertise in a local newspaper, this is a great place to get the word out about what you are doing. If you only get one deal each year from using newspaper ads, you will get back more than the money that you paid for the ad for that year. Be sure that you do not limit your options by neglecting this great way to find excellent real estate deals.

Investing in real estate is an exceptional job that allows you to help people out while making money yourself. This job relies solely on you and how dedicated you are to making it work. Your income in real estate investing will be totally up to you and will depend on how hard you are willing to work. The options and the potential to make money in this business is limitless, so it all depends on you. If you are willing to use extraordinary ways to find great deals, you will find phenomenal deals that will have you making a great living. Remember, it all depends on you!
